Pay attention to this critical key point regarding homosexuality. Particularly for gay men, the following aphorism is a beneficial message that will always be true.
“THE GOLDEN ARCHES ARE NOT HAMBURGERS.”
The golden arches may reference what is needed, but no SYMBOL will ever provide nourishment or help them flourish.
To quote Thorkil Vanggaard:
“By the symbolic term phallus, we express the idea that beyond the practical function of the genital in its fully erect shape as a means of procreation and pleasure, it is a pictorial representation of the essence of manliness.… Thus for the boy, the phallus represents the grown man's greatness, strength, independence, courage, wisdom, knowledge, mastery of other men and possession of desirable women, potency -- and everything else a boy may look up to in men and desire for himself”
Generally, masculinity is the god of homosexuals. Remember (P0st 14), gay historian, Martin Duberman determined, “In some complicated way, I think all my homosexual activity is an attempt (among other things) to identify with a masculinity I was never sure I had.”
Many believe that neither sodomy nor fellatio can facilitate human psychological and relational growth. As the golden arches are not the food they represent, sex between men is symbolic and cannot nourish. There is no beef. Surely males can find a greater oneness together through sharing mind, heart, and sinew than through a series of transient genital transactions. “So many men and so little time” will never satisfy and bring growth to the hungry gay soul. The primary need is above the belt, not below.
